ESN Bahngeräte GmbH have developed a modular concept for a point heater control, which is suitable for operation with direct current from the 750 V DC traction current supply or with 230 V AC from the public mains. Up to 99 heating elements can be connected to one controller. The control system consists of a PLC from the Siemens S7 200 family which communicates with the switching modules via a RS485-Bus. With this solution, the customer has access to the whole world of S7.
Point heater control systems are mainly designed as individual solutions which must meet the specific requirements of the customer as regards power, number of heating elements, heating voltage and control requirements.
The point heater control can be operated either manually or automatically.
The physical components of the controllers can
be installed on aluminum section frames or an
insulating material panel. This assembly can
then be supplied both ready for mounting in
an existing control cabinet or ready to be
mounted in an isolating housing. The controllers
are ready for connection and tested.
