– Sale of electrical equipment for industrial needs and for trams

1939

Collaboration with Wilhelm Hessen and extension of the range to switchgear, electrical installations and fastening fixtures

1948

Manufacture of fittings for overhead lines

1952

Change of location, Mannheim, move to Voltastraße 19–21

1965

Manufacture and sale of level measuring systems

1970

Founding of Hermann Ruf GmbH & Co. KG, joint partners Herbert Ruf and Philipp Schadt

1988

Splitting off of Elektrohandel Ruf

1991

Takeover of Hermann Ruf GmbH & Co. KG by Pepperl & Fuchs GmbH

1996

Company split; the level measuring systems operations are integrated into Pepperl & Fuchs GmbH; founding of ESN Bahngeräte GmbH

2000

ESN Bahngeräte GmbH is taken over 50% by each of the brothers Hans and Stefan Zayer

2008

Introduction of  SMD technology into manufacturing

2009

Move within Mannheim to Cochemer Straße 12-14
